CSC wins $75 million task order for new Navy network

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., 30 June 2005. Computer Sciences Corp. announced today that it has been awarded a task order to provide information technology (IT) support services for a new, overseas Navy network.

The Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-NET) Far East is an initiative to replace most of the Navy's disparate networks at major fleet bases and stations.

The work will support the U.S. Commander, Naval Forces, Japan; Naval Network Warfare Command; Information Technology Service Center Far East; and the Information Technology Operations Center. The task order, which has a three-month base period and four one-year options, is valued at $75 million if all options are exercised. It was awarded under the General Services Administration ANSWER contract.

Under the task order, CSC and its team of subcontractors will provide technical and enterprise management, infrastructure and information assurance services, and legacy-to-enterprise transition support for thousands of end users at various locations in the Far East, including Japan, Korea, Guam, Singapore and Diego Garcia.

More than 120 enterprise service desk specialists, network and system administrators, engineers, technicians and systems security specialists from CSC's Federal Sector Navy and Marine Corps Systems Center will perform the work throughout the Far East region.
Teaming with CSC are C4 Solutions LLC of Blythe, Ga., and Alpha Solutions Inc. of Mansfield, Md.
