BILLERICA, Mass., 30 Sept. 2011. American Science and Engineering Inc. (NASDAQ:ASEI), maker of X-ray detection technology, will deliver three Z Backscatter Vans (ZBV) to two government agencies in Africa for law enforcement and national security applications. Users will employ the ZBV vans, outfitted with X-ray scanning technology, to screen vehicles for explosive threats and contraband in an effort to combat terrorist threats and drug trafficking. “The ZBV system’s speed and agility will allow our customers to respond quickly and effectively to national security threats,” according to Anthony Fabiano, president and CEO.
