Solid-state laser that generates 8 kilowatts per cubic centimeter introduced by Intense

MUNICH, Germany, 23 May 2011. Intense Ltd. in North Brunswick, N.J., is introducing the Hermes 650W Mini Stack solid-state laser for handheld diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser systems that must be small, lightweight, have long battery life, and operate in harsh conditions. The Mini Stack is a compact QCW stack with high-power 808-nanometer laser bars that operate across a broad range of operating temperatures. The high-brightness stack has an emission area of 2.8 by 2.8 millimeters, and generates an optical output stronger than 8 kilowatts per square centimeter with 300-microsecond pulses.

The high-brightness laser stack has an emission area of 2.8 by 2.8 millimeters, and generates an optical output stronger than 8 kilowatts per square centimeter with 300-microsecond pulses.The 650W Mini Stack meets MIL-STD-810F, can be stored at temperatures from -57 to 75 degrees Celsius, and resists the effects of shock and vibration.

The standard 650W Mini Stack operates in temperatures from -40 70 C. High-temperature versions can operate in temperatures as hot as 130 C. Intense introduced the laser this week at Laser World of Photonics in Munich, Germany.
