FAIRFAX, Va., 2 Aug. 2008. ManTech International Corp. won a five-year, $151 million task order to provide information technology support to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), SEA 04L3. The performance-based task order was awarded under the NAVSEA Seaport Enhanced contract.

According to the contract, ManTech personnel will provide IT support to the Navy's legacy Ship Maintenance and Logistics Support Information Systems Program. Services include: the development of formal processes in lifecycle planning, documentation, program management, program control, testing, training, and deployment.

This task order supports the reengineering of NAVSEA IT corporate systems. The Navy will employ common system standards, processes, and development methodology, along with shared resources and infrastructure, to improve function and reduce costs, says a representative.

Work will be performed primarily at the Norfolk region with additional work conducted at key locations across the United States.

"We are pleased to support the Navy's goal of increased functional benefits and cost savings through this large scale streamlining and integration effort," says Robert A. Coleman, president and COO, ManTech International Corp. "Software development, integration, and process improvement skills are some of our core competencies and we look forward to providing these capabilities to NAVSEA 04L to help them standardize their systems and processes."

The work will be performed by ManTech Systems Engineering Corporation (MSEC), a wholly owned subsidiary of ManTech, headquartered in Lexington Park, Md.
