CACI to deliver IT upgrades to Naval Sea Systems Command

ARLINGTON, Va., 3 Sept. 2008. CACI International Inc. won a prime $150 million task order by the U.S. Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to modernize maintenance applications used at shipyards and maintenance centers through information technology (IT) upgrades and software development.

The five-year contract was awarded under the Seaport-e contract vehicle with the intent of saving infrastructure costs and enhancing the combat readiness and mission capability of the fleet, says a representative.

As one of its key mission-critical responsibilities, NAVSEA maintaines the Navy's ships and systems. The work awarded through this task order will consolidate approximately 15 maintenance contracts for IT activities at various naval facilities. This provides the Navy with a single source for modernizing ship maintenance applications, developing new maintenance technologies, and rolling applications out to new locations.
