Transtector Systems joins innovation network for warfighter systems

HAYDEN, Idaho, 29 April 2008. Transtector Systems has joined the EDGE Innovation Network, a collaborative, open-environment initiative whereby industry, academia, and government work together to enhance the delivery cycle of technology and innovation to the warfighter.

Sponsored by General Dynamics C4 Systems and based in Scottsdale, Ariz., the EDGE provides facilities and laboratories for developing and testing technologies, products, and system to equip a new breed of warfighter who is mobile, connected, and informed.

In addition to recent innovations delivered to the U.S. Army's Land Warrior program, the EDGE is actively monitoring more than 25 projects intended to improve and enhance warfighter capabilities. One recent project demonstrated the integration of existing sniper detection systems into the Land Warrior system's leader display. From this capability, Land Warrior soldiers can automatically receive sniper detection sensor input in their digital displays.

Members recently joining the EDGE include: Cisco Systems Inc., San Jose, Calif.; UltraCell Corp., Livermore Calif..; QinetiQ North America Operations LLC., McLean, Va.; and Hidalgo Ltd, Cambridge, England.
