FREMONT, Calif., 1 Feb. 2008.Elma Electronic in Fremont, Calif., is releasing an all-metal body version of their popular E27 series encoders.

The metal E27 encoder is for more robust applications than the standard version, where bushing strength, panel nut tightening torque, and side-impact resistance is of primary importance.

The encoder is dimensionally the same as Elma's standard offering, which shares it dimensions and footprint with most encoders from the Far East. The metal version can be a drop-in replacement for customers who want to upgrade their designs or replace other manufacturers without customization.

Elma's E27 line features vertical orientation, 6 Ncm torque integrated pushbutton, 1.5 Ncm rotational torque, metal threaded bushing, internal O-ring for water ingress to IP65, and standard, D-shaped aluminum shaft. Options are available for simple, cafeteria-style selection, as well as complete customization in the areas of shafts, housings and switching schemes.
