MEDFIELD, Mass., 25 March 2009. Comark Corp. in Medfield, Mass., is introducing a milspec five-slot 2U rugged computer and rackmount chassis for military applications where standard office grade rackmount computers will not survive.

The military specification 2U rugged rackmount computers are designed with a black steel case, aluminum front panel, and a locking front door that protects the power switch and 2 USB ports.

The rackmount computer has been designed to meet military specifications and has undergone testing to MIL and IEC- 60945 criteria. The rugged chassis has dual cooling fans, replaceable air filters, solid-state storage and 24 volts DC input power options.

The rugged computer in a rugged chassis offers high-speed Core 2 Duo Quad processing, 16 gigabytes RAM, dual hot swappable drives, a hot swappable power supply, and a DVD/CD-RW drive. It

The computing architecture is designed around long-life embedded components to ensure multi-year availability with minimal changes. It is also available with mobile processing technology to reduce power consumption and heat generation.
