SAN DIEGO, 18 March 2009. Next-generation air traffic control and technology for runway incursion prevention highlight the inaugural Avionics USA conference and exhibition June 1 and 2, 2009, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego.

SAN DIEGO -- Next-generation air traffic control systems and technology for runway incursion prevention highlight inaugural Avionics USA conference and exhibition June 1 and 2, 2009, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego.

This conference complements the Avionics 2009 conference and exhibition, which is each year in March in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, which has featured content on next-generation air traffic management (ATM) and avionics modernization for military systems.

Conference content at Avionics USAwill touch on how designers and system integrators are handling the challenges of next-generation systems and standards for commercial avionics and military avionics, as well as for air traffic management.

Conference topics include:

-- future air traffic management (ATM);
-- runway incursion;
-- electronic flight bags;
-- layered information assurance for avionics systems;
-- certification and standards for future avionics systems;
-- avionics components standards;
-- cost benefit analysis of implementing performance-based navigation; and
