CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., 16 Dec. 2009. GE Intelligent Platforms in Charlottesville, Va., is introducing the RXMC-1553 high density test and instrumentation XMC card for error detection and monitoring of MIL-STD-1553avionics data bus A/B notice II applications.

The XMC module is RoHS-compliant, offers one or two dual-redundant channels -- each of which is supported by 1 megabyte of memory -- and is conductively cooled for deployment in harsh environments. A conformally-coated version is also available.

The card comes with the software source code of an advanced API for Windows XP/2000/NT and Wind River's VxWorks. GE Intelligent Platforms also offers its BusTools/1553 bus analysis, simulation and data logging/monitoring solution.

"The RXMC-1553 takes our long-standing expertise and experience in the avionics field and brings it to the XMC platform," says Ben Daniel, business manager for avionics at GE Intelligent Platforms.

The RXMC-1553 card configures for simultaneous bus controller, as many as 31 remote terminals and bus monitor functionality. Single-function RXMC-1553 interfaces enable only one major operational mode at a time. Each interface can emulate either a bus controller or as many as 31 remote terminals or a bus monitor.

Standard has of the RXMC-1553 include 45-bit, microsecond message time tagging, triggers, BC & RT link-list structures, error injection/detection, IRIG-B signal receiver/generator with GPS synchronization, automatic/manual RT status bit and mode code responses, along with advanced BC functionality.

Avionics low and high side discrete channels, RS-485 differential discrete channels, or programmable I/O are factory configurable options.

GE and Fanuc have dissolved their joint venture, and the company recently known as GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms has changed its name to GE Intelligent Platforms. For more information contact GE Intelligent Platforms online at www.ge-ip.com.
