MINNEAPOLIS, 2 Dec. 2009. Omnetics Connector Corp. in Minneapolis is introducing a nano threaded metal shell circular connector for aerospace and defense connector applications such as hand-held and body-worn electronics in rugged environments like military radios, headsets, and body worn medical monitoring equipment.

This military-grade nano connector has a threaded metal shell for positive lock while compressing an O-ring to provide a waterproof interfacial seal, and withstand high shock and vibration.

This high density multi-position military connector is available in four shell sizes: 6, 11, 16 & 28 positions arranged on a .025-inch (.64-millimeter) pitch and are capable of 1 amp per contact and can be configured with different levels of waterproof sealing up to IP-68.

A variety of shell material and finishes are available including nickel plated brass and black oxide stainless steel. Using a military quality contact system, these connectors are perfect for mission critical applications where size, weight and reliability are crucial.
