BAE Systems awarded Department of Homeland Security EAGLE contract

HERNDON, Va., 28 August 2006. BAE Systems has been awarded a prime contract for the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge solutions (EAGLE) program. The company will support DHS efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs of information technology systems and services in two functional categories -- software development (category 4) and management support services (category 5).

HERNDON, Va., 28 August 2006. BAE Systems has been awarded a prime contract for the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge solutions (EAGLE) program. The company will support DHS efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs of information technology systems and services in two functional categories -- software development (category 4) and management support services (category 5).

Functional Category 4 is designed to provide for all phases of software design, development, deployment, and sustainment to ensure DHS applications and databases meet all mission goals and objectives.

For Functional Category 5, BAE Systems will have the opportunity to provide the business and technical management services that will assist in DHS' overall development and implementation of policies, procedures, and directives.

Under the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, BAE Systems will work with more than 30 small, disadvantaged, service-disabled, veteran-owned, and HUB-zoned small businesses.

BAE Systems has formed the Small Business Trusted Forum with the mission to work in a strong, cooperative environment, to provide solutions to DHS by maximizing the significant competencies that can be found in American's small business environment.
