INDIANAPOLIS, 24 Jan. 2006. A subsidiary of Raytheon Company has been awarded a one-year option with a ceiling of $70.2 million on an existing indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).

Under the contract option, Raytheon Technical Services Co. LLC (RTSC) will continue providing supplies and services that support the naval aviation customer base, including navigation systems, reconnaissance systems, aircraft support and mission planning, aircraft armament equipment, and weapons data- link systems.

The award is the fourth of four, one-year options available on the original contract, which was awarded in December 2001. The maximum value of the contract, including the base-year and all options, is $450 million. Work will be performed in Indianapolis.

NAVAIR can procure a wide variety of products and program-support services under the contract, including systems engineering and software engineering; technical, manufacturing and life-cycle support; in-service engineering, overhaul and repair; spares; and integration.

"RTSC has partnered with the Navy for more than eight years to provide supplies and services including avionics and mission-planning software; bomb racks, launchers, and pylons; and avionics components for several platforms, including the F/A-18 and V-22 Osprey," said John Balaguer, RTSC vice president and general manager of RTSC's Indianapolis-based business unit. "Raytheon will continue to deliver total Mission Support to the Naval Aviation Enterprise, helping NAVAIR achieve maximum aircraft availability for tasking and training at a reduced cost."
