RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., 16 Nov. 2006. MMD Components in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., is introducing a series of radiation-hardened oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXOs) for use in military and industrial applications.

Using proprietary compensation and stabilization methods, the new OCXOs can maintain a frequency stability of 1 ppb over an operating temperature range of -55 to 85 degrees Celsius. Users can specify sine wave, HCMOS, TTL or PECL output, a frequency range of 1 MHz to 120 MHz, and an input of 3.3, 5, 12, and 15 volts. Custom frequencies and input voltages are also available.

The units can withstand swept sine vibration of 20 G's, 10 Hz to 500 Hz, and mechanical shock of 500 G's, half-sine pulse at 0.1 milliseconds, 3 axis; MMD can also accommodate a customer's more stringent requirements. In addition, the OCXOs have been tested and screened per MIL-PRF-55310 and MIL-STD-883 class B standards.

The OCXOs come in a variety of packages -- 14-pin DIL (dual in-line), 1-by-1 inch, 1.5-by-1.5 inches and 2-by-2 inches. Custom packages can be specified.
