Microvision contracted by AFRL for development of portable eyewear display

REDMOND, Wash., 16 June 2006. Microvision Inc., maker of light scanning technologies for display and imaging products, has received a $915,000 contract from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The contract is to advance the development of a portable eyewear display.

The contract is to advance the development of a portable eyewear display.

"The work that will be performed under this contract is squarely within our strategic product path and will take us one step closer to a see-through display solution with a form factor of a pair of eye glasses," says Alexander Tokman, Microvision CEO. Microvision currently produces and sells head-worn see-through displays that are helmet- or cap-mounted.
