DOD lays our nearly a half billion dollars for antennas

COLUMBUS, Ohio, 26 Dec. 2006. The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) is spending $496 million on antennas from two separate manufacturers.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, 26 Dec. 2006. The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) is spending $496 million on antennas from two separate manufacturers.

Officials of the U.S. Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) awarded two contracts Dec. 22 -- each for a maximum of $248 million -- to EDO Corp. in Bohemia, N.Y., and to Atlantic Microwave Corp. in Bolton, Mass.

The antennas are for the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps. Work is to be finished by 21 Dec. 2007.
