GPS satellites built by Lockheed Martin hit milestone

SUNNYVALE, Calif., 28 Feb. 2006. The fleet of Global Positioning System (GPS) Block IIR satellites designed and built by Lockheed Martin to enhance the performance of the GPS constellation has now accumulated 50 years of successful in-orbit operations.
