MADISON, Ala., 4 March 2010. STI Electronics Inc. in Madison, Ala., is introducing cable assembly kits for cable and wiring harness assembly.

STI's cable assembly kit addresses component types in operational production. It uses mil-spec connectors that have two sizes of contacts, combined with insertion/extraction tools. Additional terminals, solder sleeves, crimp lug terminations, and a terminal soldering kit for enhanced soldering skill development are provided.

The kit provides the operator skill necessary for cable and harness applications. In addition, the kit has an overlay and wire list for the student to use that is typical of those encountered in production operations. The cable assembly kit is used in STI's NASA cable and harness training program.

IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, is modeled after the IPC-A-610 standard. For more information contact STI online at www.stielectronicsinc.com.
