General Dynamics wins $68 million contract to provide Abrams Tank system technical support

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., 20 Sept. 2010. General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, won a $68 million contract from the U.S. Army TACOM Lifecycle Management Command of Warren, Mich., to deliver Abrams Tank Systems Technical Support (STS).

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., 20 Sept. 2010. General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, won a $68 million contract from the U.S. Army TACOM Lifecycle Management Command of Warren, Mich., to deliver Abrams Tank Systems Technical Support (STS).

The award will fund engineering studies on Abrams main battle tanks to identify improvements and replace obsolete parts to maintain the tanks at high operational readiness rates.

The work will be performed by existing General Dynamics Land Systems personnel in Sterling Heights, Mich. It is expected to be completed by Dec. 19, 2011.
