CONCORD, Calif., 13 June 2010. Calex Mfg. Co. Inc. in Concord, Calif., is introducing the HE Series 75 Watt triple output rugged DC-DC converter for harsh-environment military COTS and industrial power electronics applications.

The HE triple output series offers a primary output of either 3.3 or 5 volts DC and auxiliary outputs of either +/-12 or +/-15 volts DC. The 5-volt output is rated at as much as 15 Amps and the 3.3-volt output is rated at as much as 20 Amps. The auxiliary outputs are rated at +/-2 Amps. All models provide as much as 75 Watts of output power. The HE Triple is isolated input to output for powering logic and analog circuitry.

The HE series is housed in an industry standard 1/2 brick case. All models are encapsulated. The operating temperature range for the HE triple is -40 to 100 degrees Celsius. Calex offers a variety of heat sinks for extended temperature operation. The HE triple comes in an optional mounting kit that provides screw terminal connections.

The HE triple provides output voltage trim and logic ON/OFF. Protection includes volt-seconds clamp and over voltage protection, thermal shutdown, pulse by pulse current limiting, and short circuit frequency foldback. All models have a 2:1 input range, either 18 to 36 or 36 to 75 volts DC. All models provide input reverse polarity protection. Output line and load regulation is typically 0.01 percent and 0.05 percent respectively. Output voltage setpoint accuracy is +/-1 percent.
