WAKEFIELD, Mass., 10 Jan. 2007.Implant Sciences Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of products for national security, medicine, and industry, and RAE Systems Inc., a provider of rapidly deployable sensor networks that enable customers to identify safety and security threats in real time, have signed an agreement to explore the deployment of Implant Science's QS-H150 portable explosives trace detector into AreaRAE wireless sensor networks.

"Homeland security customers worldwide are continually looking for more sensitive and non-invasive explosive detection solutions," says Robert Chen, chief executive officer for RAE Systems. "This partnership with Implant Sciences expands RAE Systems' open wireless network strategy for meeting the Chemical, Biological, Radiation, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) detection needs of first responders for public venue protection. The QS-H150 Portable Explosives Trace Detector is capable of detecting trace amounts of most commercial and military explosives, including RDX, PETN, HMX, TNT, Black Powder, and Ammonium Nitrate at nanogram level concentrations in real time."

"The demand for trace detection equipment is growing worldwide," says Dr. Anthony J. Armini, PhD., CEO of Implant Sciences. "We see this partnership with RAE Systems as an opportunity to equip first responders with next-generation detection technology that can provide real-time information to incident commanders in a variety of high-security environments."

Implant Sciences' proprietary Quantum Sniffer technology and products detect a wide array of explosives using a proprietary non-contact vortex sampling system. The equipment does not require a radioactive source and is sold worldwide for use by first responders, such as local law enforcement, maritime security, air and ground transportation logistics, aviation security, private and government infrastructure security, and cargo delivery.
