BOSTON, 15 Nov. 2007. Executives at PrismTech, maker of high-performance middleware and development tools, have signed a significant deal with Thales Naval for its OpenSplice DDS middleware. Under the terms of the deal, PrismTech will provide Thales Naval with Software Licenses and Professional Services for the OpenSplice DDS middleware used in Thales Combat Management systems and naval applications, including its TACTICOS Net Centric Solution.

This new deal announced extends the existing PrismTech/Thales strategic relationship by extending the licenses to world-wide Naval operations of Thales.

PrismTech's OpenSplice DDS is a high-performance, real-time, data-centric publish/subscribe middleware platform. It combines data-centric and real-time publish/subscribe capabilities to provide next-generation mission and business critical applications with the ideal platform for achieving high-performance data distribution and management.

OpenSplice DDS complies with the full profile of the "OMG Data Distribution Service (DDS) for Real-Time Systems v1.2 Specification," as it provides a complete implementation of both the "Data Centric Publish/Subscribe" (DCPS) Layer, and of the "Data Local Reconstruction Layer" (DLRL) Layer.

PrismTech has added security capability to OpenSplice DDS and fueling standardization work, co-authoring the UML profile for DDS specification as well as chairing the OMG DDS Special Interest Group.

Thales' Naval in The Netherlands, one of the original co-authors of the DDS specification, initially signed a strategic alliance with PrismTech in July 2006 for mission systems' software infrastructure, middleware, tools, and related services.
