BAE Systems wins $8.1 million contract to overhaul M113A3 vehicles

ANNISTON, Ala., 25 Sept. 2007. BAE Systems was awarded an $8.1 million contract from Anniston Army Depot, to overhaul 65 M113A3 armored personnel carriers.

ANNISTON, Ala., 25 Sept. 2007.BAE Systems was awarded an $8.1 million contract from Anniston Army Depot, to overhaul 65 M113A3 armored personnel carriers.

"This order continues BAE Systems' partnership with Anniston Army Depot in which the public and private industrial base work together to provide a quality system to meet fielding schedules," says Andy Hove, vice president of Combat Systems for BAE Systems.

The 65 M113 tracked vehicles will be overhauled to a zero miles, zero hours condition, will have the latest engineering changes to include Armor protection and Nuclear Biological and Chemical equipment and will be delivered by December 2007.

BAE Systems is the original manufacturer of the M113 family of vehicles (FOV), with 14,500 currently in the active Army's fleet. The M113 FOVs is an integral component of the Army's Heavy Brigade Combat Team.
