NEW YORK, 9 Oct. 2007. GlobalOptions Group Inc., a provider of domestic and international risk mitigation and management services, announced that its Crisis Management and Preparedness Services unit, James Lee Witt Associates (JLWA), has been contracted to provide technical expertise to enhance emergency management operations in the State of Maryland.
"We have chosen to hire James Lee Witt Associates to provide assistance and an independent, expert assessment of our emergency preparedness processes and procedures to ensure that all our systems, structures, and plans are as efficient and effective as possible for the safety of our citizens if ever disaster strikes," says Martin O'Malley, Governor of Maryland.
GlobalOptions will provide Maryland with technical expertise in a comprehensive review to update and modify the state's emergency management and response system as well as work with the Office of the Governor, the Homeland Security Advisor, and appropriate state agencies to examine the organizational structure of emergency management at the state level. The firm will also provide recommendations on improvement based on industry and government best practices.
