BearingPoint awarded $99 million Air Force contract to improve Smart Operations

MCLEAN, Va., 12 May 2007. BearingPoint Inc. management and technology consulting firm has been awarded a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to provide advisory and assistance services for the U.S. Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century program (AFSO21), including the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools. The Lean Six Sigma BPA spans five years with an award ceiling of $99 million.

BearingPoint Inc. management and technology consulting firm has been awarded a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to provide advisory and assistance services for the U.S. Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century program (AFSO21), including the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools. The Lean Six Sigma BPA spans five years with an award ceiling of $99 million.

The AFSO21 program's strategy is to guide continuous process improvement that allows the Air Force to continue evolving while meeting mission-critical needs of today's warfighter.

BearingPoint's scope of work will include assisting in integrating continuous process improvement practices, driving institutionalization of AFSO21, and creating self-sufficiency through training and education across the Air Force, primarily through the use of the Lean-management process toolset.

The BearingPoint team for this BPA will include Simpler Consulting, NewVectors, Total Systems Development, and VSE Corporation, among others.
