EDO Corp. assists U.S. Army with force protection system

NEW YORK, 7 May 2007. EDO Corporation has received a $15 million follow-on award for expanded support of the Army's force protection system known as C-RAM (counter rocket, artillery, and mortar). The task order was effective April 1 and includes in-theater support.

NEW YORK, 7 May 2007.EDO Corporation has received a $15 million follow-on award for expanded support of the Army's force protection system known as C-RAM (counter rocket, artillery, and mortar). The task order was effective April 1 and includes in-theater support.

The C-RAM "system of systems" combines a variety of existing systems to: detect incoming mortars or rockets, intercept them with self-destructing explosive bullets, warn exposed soldiers, and enable timely counterattack of the enemy.
