Christie system used in Rockwell Collins/STS simulator

Cologne, Germany, 2 May 2007. Rockwell Collins' engineers selected Christie's projection solutions to power the visualization system for two full-dome simulators for training Saudi Air Force Tornado aircraft pilots. The domes will each feature 11 Christie Matrix 4000 3-chip DLP projectors and marks the first time that 3-chip DLP technology will be utilized in high-performance fast-jet simulators.

The domes will each feature 11 Christie Matrix 4000 3-chip DLP projectors and marks the first time that 3-chip DLP technology will be utilized in high-performance fast-jet simulators.

The Christie Matrix 4000 projectors deliver up to 6000 ANSI lumens, with an adjustable contrast ratio from 1000-2000:1 for accurate nighttime scenes. Combined with ChristieTWIST image warping, enhanced edge-blending capabilities, and Christie AccuFrame to significantly reduce visual artifacts caused by fast-moving objects, the results are high image realism and performance.
