24 March 2025 - Reuters says with satellite numbers rising, potential collision risks could exceed $500 million over five years. Digantara provides space situational awareness services for U.S. defense agencies, while Bellatrix Aerospace develops satellite propulsion systems. Astroscale plans to offer on-orbit services for Indian government clients, unlocking new market opportunities, according to Digantara's VP. Bellatrix sees this as a key step into Japan.

India has opened its space sector to private players beyond ISRO and launched a $116 million fund to support startups. Astroscale is collaborating with JAXA on a 2027 commercial debris removal mission and has secured contracts with the U.S. Space Force and European space agencies for satellite lifespan extension services.
