Artificial intelligence (AI) is moving beyond centralized computing environments and onto military and aerospace platforms, where systems increasingly must process sensor and mission data locally and make decisions in real time. This shift is creating new engineering challenges involving heterogeneous computing architectures, GPUs, FPGAs, AI accelerators, power consumption, latency, model optimization, and secure deployment.
The webinar, titled "AI moving from the cloud to deployed platforms," will examine the hardware and software technologies enabling AI in resource-constrained, mission-critical environments. Panelists will discuss how developers balance AI performance with size, weight, and power requirements, as well as challenges involving data integrity, model training, and lifecycle management.
The discussion also will explore practical applications for AI at the edge, including uncrewed systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms, and electronic warfare.
The panel features Bill Pilaud, chief solutions architect at LCR Embedded Systems; Austin Lindquist, director of innovation at WOLF Advanced Technology; Kimberly Lowe, solutions architect at Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions; and Randy Cox, vice president of AI and incubation at Wind River.
