Charlie Cassidy
Charles (“Charlie”) Cassidy is Director of the Advanced Products Group of TeleCommunication Systems’ (TCS) Space & Component Technology Division (SCT), which is a part of the Government Solutions Group. In his role, he leads the product design, development and manufacturing for TCS’ line of ruggedized solid-state drives (SSDs) in both highly-customized and industry-standard configurations for military, aerospace and industrial applications.
Charlie has been a leader in the design, development and marketing of high-performance systems, storage and peripheral technology for over 25 years. Before joining TCS, he ran engineering and manufacturing operations for both point-of-sale lottery terminals at Scientific Games and thermal photo and photo ID printers at Zebra Technologies. He also served as vice president of engineering at RING Technology Enterprises, a startup, where he led the design and development of an innovative, high-performance SSD-based storage subsystem. Prior to RING, he was vice president and manager of the Solid-State Business Unit at Quantum Corporation. There, under Charlie’s leadership, the business unit designed and qualified three generations of SSD products at five top system manufacturers.
Charlie has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and has performed graduate studies in electrical engineering and computer science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA.
