Bombardier takes orders today for 10 CS100 jetliners, bringing its Paris aircraft sales total to 46

PARIS, 24 June 2011. Canadian commercial jet manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace on Montreal inked a last-minute deal today at the Paris Air Show to provide 10 of the company's CS100 jetliners to a first-time European buyer that does not want to be identified. The deal brings Bombardier aircraft sales at the 2011 Paris Air Show to 46 firm orders and purchase rights on another 26 aircraft. Friday's deal for 10 CS100 jetliners is worth about $628 million, Bombardier officials say. The CS100 seats 110 to 125 passengers, and has a maximum range of more than 4,000 nautical miles.

The deal brings Bombardier commercial aircraft sales at the 2011 Paris Air Show to 46 firm orders and purchase rights on another 26 aircraft.Friday's deal for 10 CS100 jetliners is worth about $628 million, Bombardier officials say. The CS100 seats 110 to 125 passengers, has a maximum range of more than 4,000 nautical miles, can fly as high as 41,000 feet, and can cruise at speeds as fast as 541 miles per hour. The aircraft is scheduled to enter service in 2013.Earlier this week at the Paris Air Show Bombardier received orders worth about $400 million for four Global 7000 and two Global 8000 long-range business jets with charter service AvWest in Perth, Australia. Bombardier also sold 10 Global 8000 business jets to charter jet company VistaJet of Salzburg, Switzerland, for about $650 million.

In passenger jet sales earlier this week at Paris, Bombardier took orders for 10 CS300 passenger jets from commercial airline Korean Air in Seoul, South Korea, and for 10 CS100 aircraft with options on an additional six of this model from an unnamed commercial air carrier. The Bombardier CS300 seats 130 passengers.
