Airbus takes orders for 274 passenger jets today, bringing the company's Paris Air Show total to 726
Today at Paris Airbus took an order for 200 A320neo passenger jets from AirAsia, an airline based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The deal represents the largest order ever placed for the A320 family, Airbus officials say, and makes AirAsia the world's largest airline customer for Airbus single-aisle aircraft.
Also today, Airbus took an order for 72 A320neo aircraft from India airline GoAir in Mumbai, India. GoAir now operates 10 Airbus A320s. Capping Airbus sales today was an order from Japanese commercial carrier Skymark Airlines in Tokyo, which inked an order for two of the massive Airbus A380 super jumbo jets, which Skymark will use on international routes between Japan, Europe, and the United States, Airbus officials say.
