GECI Aviation chooses avionics suite from Cobham for new Skylander SK 105 commuter turboprop aircraft

PARIS, 22 June 2011. Aircraft systems integrators at GECI Aviation of Metz, France, needed an integrated avionics suite for the company's new Skylander SK 105 commuter turboprop aircraft, which is due for government certification and first delivery in 2013. They found their solution from Cobham Commercial Systems in Mineral Wells, Texas. Cobham made the announcement today at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, France.
PARIS, 22 June 2011. Aircraft systems integrators at GECI Aviation of Metz, France, needed an integrated avionics suite for the company's new Skylander SK 105 commuter turboprop aircraft, which is due for government certification and first delivery in 2013. They found their solution from Cobham Commercial Systems in Mineral Wells, Texas. Cobham made the announcement today at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, France.GECI Aviation officials officially selected Cobham Commercial Systems to provide the SK 105 flight deck, which will include Cobham large-format synthetic visionavionics displays, audio/radio management system, communications and navigation (CNI) radios, and digital autopilot that has 3-D autoflight capability and automatic stall and overspeed protection.The twin-turboprop Skylander commuter aircraft will be able to carry as many as 19 passengers or 2.7 tons of cargo, and will be able to operate in extreme environments, Cobham officials say.

The L-3 Communications Products Group in New York will integrate supporting safety products into the Cobham suite, Cobham officials say.
