BOHEMIA, N.Y. – Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y., is introducing the high-reliability SD-15901 redesigned version of its synchro/resolver two-speed combiner for high-performance position control systems requiring real-time precision resolution.

The SD-15901 has a 3.3-volt I/O within a fine pitch ball grid array (FBGA) package, and provides space and power savings with a 34 percent smaller footprint and 35 percent less power dissipation than the previous generation, enabling SWaP optimization of printed circuit board layout and ease of assembly with ball grid array surface mounting.

Using coarse and fine digital angle inputs, the high-reliability combiner provides 22-bit angle resolution, RoHS compliance, and rating for the military temperature range of -55 to 125 Celsius.

Benefits include optimized performance and design; resolution as fine as 22 bits; 23-by-23 millimeter footprint; low power dissipation; potential use with all 3.3-volt synchro/resolver converters; and no need for software or calibration.
