Laser has integrated pulse picker for single-pulse selection, fast power control, and 24/7 industrial reliability and low cost of ownership.

ANDOVER, Mass. – MKS Instruments Inc. in Andover, Mass., is introducing the Spectra-Physics Spirit 1030-140 industrial femtosecond hybrid fiber laser for high-throughput micromachining of polymers, thin metals, sapphire, polycrystalline diamond, and other materials for industrial applications and medical devices.

The fiber laser delivers more than 140 Watts power and more than 600 microjoules pulse energy with pulses shorter than 400 femtoseconds in the infrared. It has adjustable repetition rates from single shot to 30 MHz and user-configurable burst mode operation.

The Spirit 1030-140 has an integrated pulse picker for single-pulse selection and fast power control for high process throughput. It provides 24/7 industrial reliability and low cost of ownership.

When coupled with several Spirit-OPA and Spirit-NOPA wavelength conversion units, the combined femtosecond-class system delivers high energy tunable laser output across the visible and infrared for 3-photon deep-tissue bio-imaging and ultrafast spectroscopy applications.
