The i7A series uses 1/16th brick pinout, and can work with a single-output 24-, 36-, or 48-volt AC-DC power supply with or without battery backup.

SAN DIEGO – TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. in San Diego is introducing the i7A4W033A033V series of 500-Watt rated i7A non-isolated DC-DC converters for medical, communications, industrial, test and measurement, and battery-powered equipment.

Capable of operating from an input voltage of 18-to-60 volts, the step-down converters deliver an output voltage that can be adjusted from 3.3 to 24 volts with an output current to 33 amps.

The i7A series uses the industry-standard 1/16th brick pinout for cost reduction and efficiency improvements over isolated converters. They can be used with a single-output 24-volt, 36-volt, or 48-volt AC-DC power supply to generate several additional regulated outputs, with or without battery backup.

Operating efficiencies are to 98 percent, minimizing power losses and allowing operation in harsh ambient temperatures of -40 to 125 degrees Celsius, even under low airflow conditions. With low output ripple and dynamic response, the i7A's design reduces the number of external components.

The converters measure 34 by 36.8 millimeters and are available in three mechanical configurations: 11.5 millimeters high open frame model, a baseplate construction for conduction cooling, or with an integral heat sink for convection or forced air cooled environments.

The i7A for communications and similar uses has an output voltage adjustment pin, positive or negative logic remote on-off, positive remote sense, plus input under-voltage, over-current and thermal protection. All models are certified to IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 and carry the CE mark for the low-voltage and RoHS directives.
