MANSFIELD, Mass. – Murata Power Solutions in Mansfield, Mass., is introducing the MGN1 series compact DC-DC converters for fast-switching and voltage requirements of gallium nitride (GaN)-based systems.
Applications include battery storage converters; smart grid implementations; data centers; motor drives; solar inverters and wind turbines; electric vehicle fast charging infrastructure; and solid-state switching breakers.
The MGN1 series power electronics devices are aligned with the increasing prevalence of wide bandgap technology. The 2.5-picofarad isolation capacitance DC-DC converters feature common mode transient immunity (CMTI) of more than 200 kilovolts per microsecond, and 2.5 picofarad isolation capacitance.
These DC-DC converters are characterized partial discharge performance; offer continuous isolation barrier that withstands voltage of 1.1 kilovolts; offer optimized output voltages that meet leading GaN device requirements of +8V, +12V and +6/-3V; and are rated UL62368 pending for 650 volts DC basic insulation and 240-volt AC reinforced insulation.
These power conversion devices come in a lightweight SMD surface-mount package; offer qualified CMTI capability for high GaN switching speeds; minimize coupling of transients across the isolation barrier; and ensures reliable performance in high-voltage applications.
