Analog Devices offers fast A-D converters

Designers seeking to upgrade from 12-bit data acquisition systems now have an option with the new 14-bit fast A-D converters from Analog Devices Inc. in Norwood, Mass. The general-purpose AD7851 runs at 333 kilo-samples per second off a 5-volt power supply with power dissipation of 60 milliwatts and a power-down mode of 5 microwatts. The high-speed AD9243, meanwhile, runs at three megasamples per second off a 5-volt power supply with power dissipation of 110 milliwatts. These devices operate in -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, while the AD7851 is available in the K grade of -40 to 125 C.
