Matthews to supply batteries for the military

SANFORD, Fla, 21 July 2005. Designers at Matthews Associates Inc. in Sanford, Fla., are set to build non-rechargeable batteries for the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.

SANFORD, Fla, 21 July 2005. Designers at Matthews Associates Inc. in Sanford, Fla., are set to build non-rechargeable batteries for the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.

Matthews is doing the work under terms of a maximum $6.2 million contract awarded July 20 from the U.S. Defense Supply Center Richmond in Richmond, Va. The contract number is SP044105C2848.

Matthews will build the batteries in Southwest Asia, and should be finished by April 2006.
