MANSFIELD, Mass., 12 Jan. 2014. Murata Power Solutions in Mansfield, Mass., is introducing the MEF1 series of 1 Watt regulated DC-DC converters for industrial, automation, and instrumentation applications.

These tightly regulated single-output power electronics converters, rated to better than 1 percent of nominal output voltage, are packaged in a encapsulated single-in-line through-hole format that measures 1.17 square centimeters.

The MEF1 power supply devices are available with either 1 kilovolt DC or 3 kilovolts DC input to output isolation, the latter model having an enhanced immunity to voltage transients. Output voltage options are 3.3 or 5 volts, with input voltages covering the popular nominal inputs from 3.3 to 24 volts DC.

Compared to previously available models, the MEF1 offers a 13 percent improvement in energy efficiency. The 3.3 volts DC input and 3.3 volts DC output options can operate over the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius without derating.

Certification to the internationally recognized safety standard UL60950 is pending. For more information contact Murata Power Solutions online at www.murata-ps.com.
