Weather- and water resistant circular power connectors for outdoor uses introduced by Hirose
SIMI VALLEY, Calif., 18 Nov. 2014. Hirose Electric Co. Ltd. in Simi Valley, Calif., is introducing the HR41 series weather-resistant connector for outdoor use in applications such as lighting, base station transceiver systems (BTS), and electronic toll collection (ETC) systems.
The HR41 circular power connectors When mated prevent water contamination with a waterproof gasket when submerged in water as deep as two meters for as long as 14 days.
With a lightweight and corrosion-resistant plastic body, the HR41 series connector incorporates high lightning surge protection, salt spray resistance, and high withstanding voltage ratings.
The HR41 series is designed with sequential contact mating and sacrificial contact points for hot swap capability. Optimized for field assembly, the HR41 series has a bayonet lock with raised tactile plug alignment indicator and a cable clamp design.
Available in either a three-position flange type or a five-position bulkhead type, the HR41 series has an operating temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, a contact resistance of 2m ohms maximum at 1A, and an insulation resistance of 5000M ohms maximum at 500V DC.
The three position HR41 series has a withstanding voltage rating of 4260V AC, rated voltage of 400V AC-DC and a rated current of 20A. The five position version has a withstanding voltage rating of 2200V AC, rated voltage of 600V AC / 400V DC, and a rated current of 20A.
