BLACKSBURG, Va., 11 Nov. 2009. The U.S. Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) in Columbus, Ohio, has issued a Standard Microcircuit Drawing (SMD) for the DVPL0505S point-of-load DC-DC converter from VPT Inc. in Blacksburg, Va.

This designation simplifies how systems integrators involved in U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) programs can procure the device for www.avionics-intelligence.com, military, and space applications.

The DVPL0505S power electronics device is a non-isolated, synchronous, buck regulated converter that steps down the voltage at the point of end use. The DVPL is designed and built to military-grade reliability as defined in MIL-PRF-38534.

The DVPL series of DC-DC point-of-load converters can be used alone or with the DVHE DC-DC converter as part of the high efficiency, reliability optimized (HERO) power system.
