TORRANCE, Calif., 16 Dec. 2010. Martek Power in Torrance, Calif., is introducing a 12-volt DC output version of the AHF series of 650-Watt AC front end power supplies for data communications and network applications. The AHF series is a standard product line of high density 12-volt DC or 48-volt DC output AC front ends with active power factor correction and 3.3-volt DC auxiliary standby power.

TORRANCE, Calif., 16 Dec. 2010. Martek Power in Torrance, Calif., is introducing a 12-volt DC output version of the AHF series of 650-Watt AC front end power supplies for data communications and network applications. The AHF series is a standard power electronics product line of high density 12-volt DC or 48-volt DC output AC front ends with active power factor correction and 3.3-volt DC auxiliary standby power.

Measuring 3.07 by 1.57 by 12.38 inches, the units deliver as much as 53.3 amps across the full AC input range of 90 to 264 volts AC. With a compact 1U by 2U format, designers can mount as many as five power supply modules in a standard 19-inch rack in a 1U high profile.

Power densities of the new AHF models are more than 20 Watts per cubic inch, boosting efficiencies to more than 92 percent. The AHF models come standard with N+1 redundancy, which is ensured by a hot plug and active current sharing scheme, and I2C management bus logic for system integration and communications. Protection features include input over voltage, output over voltage, over temperature, and over current protections.
