HIAWATHA, Iowa, 1 Feb. 2010. Crystal Group Inc. of Hiawatha, Iowa, will demonstrate its latest rugged computing products--including the RSS639 JBOD Rugged 6U Storage System, SS11 Rugged Sealed Server, and TMC1 Tactical Computing Module--at AFCEA/UNSI West 2010. West 2010 runs from Feb. 2 through Feb. 4 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego.

Crystal Group will demonstrate and display several rugged computing options in the exhibit hall at West. Crystal products featured at booth #2116 include:

The RSS639 offers 39 top-loading, hot-swappable 2.5-inch/3.5-inch SAS/SATA drives, up to 2TB per drive; 150QD Jonathan rails (allow locking out of rack); and an N+1 redundant AC power supply which allows the system to operate through two power module failures. The RSS639 offers high-bandwidth connectivity through two SAS x4 (SFF-8088) inputs with 12Gbps bandwidth each.

The SS11 Sealed Server offers all aluminum construction with custom EMI gasketing to seal the server chassis. I/O is facilitated through quick locking mil-circular connectors. Convection cooling enables an extended temperature range of -30 degrees C up to 55 degrees C, with a -40 degree C SSHDD option. Cold-plate mounting is available for higher temperature environments. The SS11 is certified to MIL-STDs 810G and 461F and designed to meet MIL-STDs 464A and 704E requirements. The SS11 Sealed Server offers immersion protection rated to IP68.

The TCM1 offers extended capability with a shock/vibe rating of 5 GRMS in combined wheeled vehicle and aircraft profiles, a temperature range of -30 degrees C up to 65 degrees C (-22 degrees F to 141 degrees F) and a DC power option that is MIL-STD-461-, MIL-STD-704-, and MILSTD-1275-compliant. The TCM1 is available with the Intel Core 2 Duo/Core Solo. This short-depth (12.75 inches) module features up to two rotational or solid-state, 2.5-inch Sata II HDDs and an expansion option of one mini PCle slot and one mini PCI slot. The TCM1 is certified to MIL-STDs 810G and 461F and designed to MIL-STD 167-1and MIL-S-901D requirements.
