Liquid cooling connectors with aerospace-grade sealing for energy storage introduced by Amphenol Industrial
Summary points:
- High-performance liquid cooling connectors are for AI data centers, EV charging, and energy storage systems, exceeding Open Compute Project (OCP) specs.
- Two models introduced: UQB (quick connect) and UQDB (blind mate), featuring leak-free design, high flow rates, and aerospace-grade sealing.
- Available in four OCP sizes with multiple configuration options, including corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction and dry-break valves for spill prevention.
ENDICOTT, N.Y. – Amphenol Industrial Operations in Endicott, N.Y., is introducing two liquid cooling connectors for high-reliability equipment that employ liquid cooling like AI data centers, energy storage systems, and electric vehicle charging.
Performance of these connectors exceeds the Open Compute Project (OCP) specifications; UQB connectors offer quick connect technology, while the UQDB connectors feature blind mating for easy installation. The connectors have leak-free design and high flow rates.
All of the liquid cooled connectors use high-performance, aerospace-grade sealing materials, and feature a bidirectional shutoff valve and dry break to prevent against accidental spillage or drips. Shells and springs are made of stainless steel that impedes corrosion and increases component longevity.
The UQD connectors features an automatic steel ball-lock mechanism that enables quick connect and disconnect, as well as compatibility with other components based on the OCP specification. Connectors come in the four standard OCP sizes (UQD02/04/06/08) as a standard push-pull socket, with a latch socket option featuring a flat-design button to improve operation and avoid accidental touch.
Blind-mate technology
Featuring blind mate technology with a radial compensation of 1 millimeter, the UQDB connectors automatically connect and seal when installed, and are available in the four sizes outlined by OPC (UQDB02/04/06/08).
Options include barb and threads, right angle or inline configuration, and common coolants, such as deionized water, ethylene glycol, and propylene glycol. Working pressure is from 0~0.6 MPa and safe pressure ranges from 1 to 2 MPa.
