Mil-spec high-rel polymer surface-mount chip capacitors for radio and radar introduced by Vishay
Summary points:
- Vishay's DLA 04051 series vPolyTan polymer capacitors deliver ultra-low equivalent series resistance, outperforming traditional tantalum capacitors for enhanced efficiency in aerospace and defense systems.
- The capacitors offer a broad capacitance range and voltage support from 2.5 to 63 volts, with long-term reliability proven through 2,000 hours of testing at 125 degrees Celsius.
- Designed for harsh environments, the DLA 04051 series withstands shocks to 500 Gs, vibration per MIL-STD-202-204 Level D, and thermal cycling, and serves as a qualified second-source alternative to Yageo/Kemet products.
MALVERN, Pa. – Vishay Intertechnology Inc. in Malvern, Pa., is introducing the DLA 04051 series of vPolyTan polymer surface-mount chip capacitors for high-reliability aerospace and defense applications.
These capacitors meet the latest Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) 04051 military specifications and feature ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR), as low as 25 milliohms, which is significantly lower than traditional tantalum capacitors.
These capacitors are suitable for aerospace and defense power supplies, radios, radar systems, transponders, and energy storage in automated manufacturing systems (AMS).
Long-term reliability
These mil-spec power electronics components offer a capacitance range of 4.7 to 680 microfarads and support voltage ratings from 2.5 to 63 volts. They also are tested for long-term reliability, and validated through 2000 hours of testing at 125 degrees Celsius.
These capacitors offer shock resistance to 500 Gs, vibration resistance that meets MIL-STD-202-204 Level D, and the ability to withstand 10 thermal shock cycles per MIL-STD-202-107.
Vishay's DLA 04051 series serves as a second source to Yageo/Kemet offerings. For more information contact Vishay online at www.vishay.com/en/product/40281.
