BRISTOL, Conn., 22 Aug. 2008. Aerospace Precision Windings (APW), a division of Classic Coil Inc., has developed a new line of miniature precision coils for aerospace sensor applications. Typical MicroCoil applications include gyroscopes, accelerometers, military voice coils, RF coil assemblies, navigation sensing, guidance systems, speed sensing, fire detection systems, LVDT sensing systems, laser beam focus, and night-vision system instrumentation.

BRISTOL, Conn., 22 Aug. 2008. Aerospace Precision Windings (APW), a division of Classic Coil Inc., has developed a new line of miniature precision coils for aerospace sensor applications.

Called the MicroCoil System, the coils can have an outside diameter as small as .012 inches (.3 mm) and an inner diameter of .005 inches (0.127 mm). They may be wound with 39-58 AWG copper, copper clad aluminum, gold, nickel, or exotic magnetic wire materials. APW was able to develop these new coils after doubling its precision, Class 8 clean room, and perfect layer winding capacity.

Typical MicroCoil applications include gyroscopes, accelerometers, military voice coils, RF coil assemblies, navigation sensing, guidance systems, speed sensing, fire detection systems, LVDT sensing systems, laser beam focus, and night-vision system instrumentation.
