WALLINGFORD, Conn., 25 July 2012. Times Microwave Systems in Wallingford, Conn., is introducing the Times-Protect LP-GPX-05-T lightning protector for GPS receivers. The LP-GPX-05-T is a bidirectional filter-based design with good insertion loss and return loss characteristics from 1,000 to 2,000 MHz, company officials say.
The DC pass design lightning protector is for GPS receivers that require as much as five volts DC power supplied on the center pin for L1, L2 and L3 bands. While the RF path is DC blocked, the biased DC voltage protection circuit uses solid state protection technology to provide surge protection.
The white bronze plated construction of the LP-GPX-05-T protector eliminates potential galvanic corrosion and provides long life in hostile environments. The weather-protected housing is rated to IP65 allowing for outdoor installations.
Times-Protect GPX-05 surge arrestors available are the LP-GPX-05-TFF bidirectional design with female/female connectors, and the LP-GPX-05-TFM bidirectional design with Female and Male connectors.
