HOLBROOK, N.Y., 25 Feb. 2009. Tactical CommGear Inc. in Holbrook, N.Y., is introducing the Tactical Talker lightweight man-wearable radio handset for police and military communications.

The Tactical Talker tactical radio equipment offers multi-platform radio connectivity and fast tactical network access. The handset replaces most conventional military communications networking handsets because it can be used interchangeably with existing radios.

Ground units must carry several handsets to interface with all of the radios necessary for seamless communication with standoff weapon system platforms. This requirement is imposed by differences in radio frequencies and hardware connection which can present a problem for small widely dispersed units, since several handsets are cumbersome to manage.

Tactical Talker overcomes the problem with a proprietary interconnect compatibility have and several I/O connector ports that enable the unit to automatically sense specific radio impedance and radio biasing voltages, thereby allowing it to make adjustments that assure clear concise voice/ data communications and transfer.
