SANTA CLARA, Calif., 6 Nov. 2006. Agilent Technologies Inc. in Santa Clara, Calif., introduced the W1314A receiver, which can enable RF engineering teams to optimize and troubleshoot UMTS and GSM networks and quickly identify the cause of problems.

The platform has options to support GSM, UMTS, IS95, cdma2000, 1xEVDO and iDEN technologies. Agilent officials claim the device is the industry's fastest measurement receiver, with 10 times the performance of its existing platform.

The new receiver integrates with the Agilent E6474A network optimization software to provide a core of RF coverage data, technology-specific interference, and optimization measurements.

The receiver supports as many as four frequency bands with uplink and downlink configurations; a small form factor and rugged casing; and a built-in 12-channel GPS and 4-port USB hub.

The W1314A receiver supports all major wireless technologies and provides a core of general-purpose RF measurement tools as well as specialized measurements for each technology.
